Board President's Column: A Good Time Was Had By All!
by Mary O'Sullivan

The Pride Committee's "Night on the Town" at Peaberry's was a big success and a really fun event. It is often hard for those of us in our middle years to look forward to anything on a Friday night that takes more energy than watching the L-Word or the most recently arrived Netflix. I am glad, however, that on Friday, May 30th I did bestir myself to attend the "Night on the Town."

There were about 100 people there from lots of different segments of the lgbt community and it was fun seeing and chatting with people I don't see regularly. And there was a lot going on. There were door prizes, which I never win, so I wasn't disappointed to not win this time too. There were "tasting sessions" for beer, wine, and coffee lovers. I went to the wine tasting and discovered the people presenting were knowledgeable, and I came away with several new wine ideas. The food was good. Even the Karaoke was good.

There are other events sponsored by the Pride Committee and by the Resource Center coming up in the next several months. Watch the Center website calendar and this newsletter to find out when the next good time is scheduled. Then do yourself a favor and make sure you attend it.
